Des antécédents d’injection intravitréenne augmentent le risque de rupture capsulaire postérieure lors de la chirurgie de la cataracte

CATARACT Londres – mechentel news – Dans le numéro de Juin 2016 d’Ophthalmology, l’équipe de Lee AY. a montré qu’un antécédent de prise en charge par injection intravitréenne était associé à une haute probabilité de rupture capsulaire postérieure lors de la chirurgie de la cataracte. Cette étude apporte des analyses qui informent le chirurgien et le patient sur le risque de cette complication lorsque plusieurs injections ont été réalisées auparavant. D’autres études sont nécessaires pour déterminer la cause de ce risque. L’étude a porté sur 65 836 interventions de cataracte dont 1935 yeux avaient reçu de traitements par injections intravitréennes. Indépendamment des autres facteurs de risques (grade de la cataracte, expérience du chirurgien, âge du patient) l’étude a montré que 10 injections ou plus, augmentaient le risque de rupture capsulaire postérieure de 2.59 fois. 8PB9
